Inspired by the decentralised mind of the cephalopods and Donna Haraway’s concept of Tentacular Thinking, we started wondering how we can comprehend our environment with all senses. Diving into the underworld of the map, changing the perspective from the human-centred, patriarchal, top-down view into a sensual experience of the interconnected living and dying together. We use different sensual exercises, in order to map landscapes in a multi-sensual way. The work is presented as a lecture performance which begins with a scientific lecture that gradually unravels, no longer making sense, and transforms into an audio-visual journey into the entanglements of the underworld. TENTACULAR MAPPING was created within the framework of the Art and Environment Scholarships, Libken e.V. (2018) It was performed at the Symbioses Conference @Ex-Embassy, Berlin (2019) and at the Chaos Computer Conference, Leipzig (2020).
TENTACULAR MAPPING was developed in collaboration with Elisa Pieper in the framework of the Art and Environment Scholarship, Libken e.V. (2018).
